Natural Mixture to Remove Grease, Dirt and Grime from Your Oven in Just 2 Minutes

Family meals are excellent opportunities to gather family and have a good time. But, the state of the kitchen after these events is a real mess. To help you get rid of grease and burned food accumulating in your oven, this is an easy but very effective technique that will only take two minutes.

With repeated use of the oven, especially during occasions and special events, grease and food scraps tend to stick to it, making your cleaning task very difficult.

To help eliminate this grease deposit and burned food in the oven and make it like new, try this simple trick that demands almost no effort.

Tip to clean your oven and make it like new

You will need:

  • Cotton,
  • Rubbing alcohol 70 %,
  • A toothbrush that you no longer use

Before using this trick, wear gloves to protect the skin on your hands and avoid irritation.

Dip the cotton in 70% rubbing alcohol and rub all the surfaces in your oven, insisting on the dirtiest parts. Leave for a few minutes and with a cloth soaked in warm water, rinse your oven then wipe with another clean dry cloth. You will see how the dirt and grease disappear before your eyes.

For stubborn oven stains and those hard to reach or too dirty, use an old toothbrush that you have previously soaked in 70% rubbing alcohol and scrub. Rinse and wipe and dry with a dry cloth.

Other tips to clean the oven

Baking soda  

Baking soda is one of the most effective grandmother’s tricks. Simply prepare a solution of a glass of water and a tablespoon of baking soda to vaporize the entire oven. Leave it on all night and the next day, wipe the oven with a clean damp sponge. Baking soda will effectively degrease the oven and absorb unpleasant odors.


Another natural and very available ingredient to clean your oven is salt. Mix 2 cups of water with 1 cup of salt, then apply the mixture on your oven walls emphasizing the greasiest and dirtiest places. Let it stand about twenty minutes and then wipe the oven with a clean damp sponge.


Foaming and effective cleanser, soap can be of great help for degreasing the oven. Apply just a small amount and rub the sides of your oven. Then rinse with a clean damp sponge.


If grease stains are dry and difficult to remove, heat your oven for a few minutes before cleaning.
